They also did it for fun. California Strength is not a Crossfit gym. They are weightlifters.

Barbell 4 Boobs!

Our gym did Barbell for Boobs today and was an awesome turn out. I think a ton of people set new PR’s including me.

The Work out was Grace:
Which is 30 clean and Jerks for time (135#/95#)

May 16th, 2011:
4:27 RX

Then did it again before my strength bias programming -
September 27th, 2011:
5:25 RX - (WTF… + 0:58 seconds?)

Then today -
October 29th, 2011:
3:38 RX (-1:47 from September, - 0:49 from May)

Over all pretty happy about that. It’s the weekend, time for some rest!

I’m going to try to keep a theme of using quotes as the title of most of my blog post, nothing like a little inspiration for us all!

But with that said. That’s how I’m approaching this programming. I feel like I’m making a very slow gain in strength after about a year of Crossfitting. While the gains have been awesome, I have to take it to the next level to see what I can really do.

I still have a few things to do for the Programming. I’m still deciding on a benchmark WOD to do before I start the programming. I was thinking of:

  • Diane - 21,15,9 for time of: Deadlift 225#/155#, Handstand Push-Ups
  • Christine 3 rounds: 500m row, 12 deadlifts @ Body weight, 21 box jumps 24/20
  • Grace - 30 Clean and Jerks for time @ 135/95#
  • Elizabeth - 21-15-9 of Squat Cleans @ 135# and Ring Dips
  • The Chief - 5 Cycles of: Max rounds in 3 minutes of:

    3 Power cleans (135,85)

    6 Push-ups
    9 Squats
    Rest 1 minute.
